Project travel
Amazonas
I travelled back to the Amazon to continue and try and finish the project I started during my artist residency at the Labverde project in 2018. I have to say it was yet another brilliant travel to the heart of greeness! I focused on getting to places where the rainforest has been impacted by human activity and is still thriving but under threat or already changing. So I visited an established hydroelectric dam and a water basin for a new dam project, the jungle and waterways around the AluNorte aluminum factory wastewater spills and a logging site on the edge of a nature reserve. Even though the trip was almost cut short by covid-19 lockdown and troubles with travel and stay I managed to do most of my planned work and got to explore some more by myself instead of with local guides that no longer were available for foreigners. Back in Norway I will develop both lumen prints, photograms and soil specimen imprints and see how I can sort the two trips into one exhibition series.
