Organizer for photozinemarathon
Photobookfestival Oslo event
The annual Photobookfestival Oslo is organized by the Photographers gallery in September and this year I was asked if I wanted to host an event at my photostudio during the festival. Together with my studiopartner Stian Evensen we organized a double-happening where the studio was turned into a photobook kafè where Stian led a series of talks and presentations by self-publishing photographers. Alongside this I ran a photozine marathon. 5 pairs of photographers and designers made their photozines during a handful of days. A workstation with some equipment and a printer was set up together with space for meetups and discussions in the groups.
The whole event turned the studio into a space to share ideas and experience while new photozines were produced. The photozinemarathon was modelled after Void studios BattleZine-event and for inspiration we had borrowed the private collection of photozines from Greek photographer Lambros Papanikolatos. the marathon ended with a public vote made as pre-orders for the winning zine. And the winners got a sponsored print run made by Canon Norway´s professional print lab.
